Protect your personal information: never share your South African ID number, cont bancar details, Cont Postbank PIN, Cardul SASSA gold number or any personal information via WhatsApp, Facebook, SMS or unofficial websites. Be immediately suspicious of any message promising to “advance your payment” or “update your banking details” outside of official SASSA channels.

SASSA will never ask for your cont bancar number or PIN via SMS, WhatsApp or social media. If you receive such a request, report it to the SASSA fraud hotline at 0800 60 10 11 immediately.
