How the Carer Payment fortnightly cycle works
How the Carer Payment fortnightly schedule works
The Carer Payment follows the same fortnightly payment structure as the Age Pension and other Centrelink income support payments. It is paid every two weeks by Services Australia (Centrelink), and your specific payment dates are personal — they are determined when you first become eligible and remain consistent unless your circumstances change significantly.

🗓️ How to find your personal Carer Payment dates
Because every Carer Payment recipient has their own individual cycle, there is no single universal calendar of payment dates. The most reliable way to find your exact upcoming payment dates is to check your myGov account linked to Centrelink, the Express Plus Centrelink app or call the Centrelink line on 132 717. Your next payment dates and amounts are always displayed in your personal Centrelink dashboard.
📅 What day of the week is the Carer Payment paid?
Centrelink processes Carer Payment direct deposits on various weekdays depending on your personal cycle. Many recipients are paid on Wednesdays or Thursdays, but your specific day may differ. If your scheduled 付款日期 falls on a public holiday, Centrelink will typically process your automatic payment on the last business day before the holiday so your bank account is credited on time.

💰 What is included in the Carer Payment?
The Carer Payment is paid at the same rate as the Age Pension. Your fortnightly direct deposit may include the base payment, Pension Supplement, Energy Supplement and, if eligible, Rent Assistance. You may also receive the Carer Supplement — an annual lump sum paid automatically in July each year to all Carer Payment recipients.
In addition to the Carer Payment, many carers also receive the Carer Allowance, which is a separate fortnightly payment that is not income or asset tested. Both payments are deposited into your nominated bank account and will appear as separate credits on your bank statement.
🏦 How is the Carer Payment deposited?
The Carer Payment is deposited via direct deposit into your nominated bank account, credit union account or building society account. You nominate your preferred account when you first apply, and you can update your BSB number 和 帳號 at any time through myGov or by calling Centrelink.
Most major Australian banks — including Commonwealth Bank, ANZ, Westpac 和 NAB — process Centrelink direct deposits overnight, so funds are available by early morning on your payment day. Smaller banks or credit unions may take until later in the day.
Financial planning tip: as a carer, unexpected medical and care expenses can arise at any time. Keep a small buffer in your bank account between fortnights by aligning your direct debits and regular bills to the days immediately after your 付款日期, rather than spreading them randomly throughout the fortnight.
If you recently updated your banking details with Centrelink, allow at least one full fortnightly payment cycle before closing your old bank account. Verify the first payment has reached your new account before making the switch permanent.
